Full time - 40 hours per week

The job

As copywriter, you will be writing and editing copy for a variety of projects (including print, web, mobile, video, and social media), working closely with the accounts and design teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging to support the O’Neill brand and product initiatives.

In this role you will be part of the Marketing Team. You will report to the Manager Creative Services and will work closely with the graphic designers, the Art Director and external creatives. The role is based in Warmond (nearby Leiden).

Key accountabilities

  • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution
  • Produce written materials in a variety of formats, including print collateral (press materials, brochures), Web and interactive content, speeches and other thought leadership pieces, considering responses from the target community
  • Research and understand the action sports industry and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of corporate marketing and communications materials
  • Collaborate with art director, graphic designers and external creatives from concept development to delivery of final product
  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to teams with revision rounds and proof reading
  • Work closely with internal teams to participate in all stages of the creative process, from brainstorming to conceptual development, internal presentations, thereby contributing creative strategies
  • Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by company, or target audience at hand
  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging

Your signature as a Copywriter is distinct and on-trend, you will amaze your colleagues with creative ideas and your knowledge of the latest seasonal trends. You take our brand copy to the next level and most importantly, stay calm despite the waves of deadlines that come rolling in throughout the season.

Who you are?

  • 3 - 5 years of copy writing experience
  • SEO + product copy experience is a plus
  • Fluent in two of these languages: English, German, French, Dutch
  • Proven affinity with the field O’Neill operates in
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of the sports- and active lifestyle industry
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a desire to deliver all work to an exceptional standard.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills.
