The job

As a Designer women's wear, you develop innovative, best in class, trend or market driven designs, collections or SMU’s for relevant product categories in alignment with the O’Neill brand DNA.

The role is based in Warmond (nearby Leiden) and is part of our Product design team. 

Key accountabilities*

Designs collections for the women’s product categories that are:

  • Based on the latest trend research and market performance information;
  • Aligned with the divisional line plan;
  • Aligned with the creative and commercial strategy for the relevant product unit and season.

Works closely with other designers, buyers, technicians, size spec specialist of the relevant product, to ensure:

  • All the necessary steps that lead to the prototype and final sample are completed;
  • The creative development process is a timely flow of complete information;
  • Style and Fit are aligned with Market and Consumer Expectations;
  • Design Refinement from prototype to final sample is ensured.

Sets up and maintains concept sheets and bill of materials (BOM) concerning creative information in a product database system, to ensure:

  • Latest information is updated and available;
  • The internal work structure and flow is optimized.

Prepares and helps  to present various product meetings for relevant product categories, to ensure:

  • All  relevant stakeholders are well informed about  the concept, strategy and designs.

Who you are?

  • Educational level: Bachelor degree or similar in preferably in design/apparel/fashion/textiles;
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in Apparel and/or Sportswear industry; a proven design track record;
  • You are a positive team player with a no nonsense mentality who can perform with deadlines;
  • You have a strong eye for detail;
  • Potential to rise within business quickly;
  • You understand the importance of a brand identity and are able to develop it optimally with your team;
  • Advanced user of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, MS Office and the product database system;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
